White Colne Village Hall & Parish Council

Project Overview
White Colne Parish Council approached us with a clear challenge: the village hall needed a full energy upgrade to cut costs and modernise its heating. The hall’s roof was also due for replacement, so we worked together to create a plan that made the most of this opportunity.
What We Did
Over the course of a year, we carried out a full installation that included:
- 30 in-roof solar panels (integrated with the new roof)
- 10kW inverter and 20kWh Fox ESS battery
- EV charger with payment software
- New air source heat pump and upgraded heating system
By choosing an in-roof solar system, we were able to save the parish a significant amount of money on roof replacement while giving the building a modern, seamless look. We also helped secure a £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant to reduce the cost of the heat pump.
The Results
The Parish has already noticed a big drop in energy bills and heating costs. This is making a real difference to the hall’s finances, freeing up funds for other community uses.
The Parish is now planning to join our Energy Aggregation Club, which will allow them to generate additional revenue from their system by trading energy collectively.
Wider Impact
This project has been part of a growing number of community-focused installations, including work for Stevington Village Hall, Melrose Community Association, Our Lady and St Nicholas Church in Liverpool, Harrold Centre in Bedford, and Merstham Community Hub in Surrey.
