Real Solar Panel Installations & Case Studies
Explore real solar panel and battery storage installations completed by Simcott Renewables across Essex and the UK.
Our Solar Installation Projects
We work with homeowners, businesses, and organisations to deliver tailored solar PV and battery storage systems. Each installation is designed around: property type and roof structure, energy usage and goals, available space and orientation, long-term savings and performance. From smaller residential installs to complex commercial systems, every project is built to deliver reliable, long-term results.

Merstham Community Hub Solar Case Study
You've reached the end of our work.
What You’ll Find in Each Case Study
Each project includes detailed insights so you can compare installations and understand what might work for your property.
You’ll typically see:
- the problem or goal
- the system design and installation approach
- the final outcome and performance
- system size, panels and battery setup
- key benefits such as cost savings or energy independence
This helps you move beyond theory and see how solar works in practice.
Designed Around Real Properties
Not every property is straightforward. Some of our most successful installations involve solving practical challenges.
Examples include:
- ground-mounted systems where roofs aren’t suitable
- multi-roof installations across garages and outbuildings
- commercial buildings with complex energy requirements
These projects demonstrate how flexible solar can be when properly designed.
Why Case Studies Matter
Choosing a solar installer isn’t just about price - it’s about experience and results.
Case studies give you:
- proof of real installations
- confidence in system performance
- clarity on what to expect
- examples similar to your own property
They are one of the best ways to understand whether a provider is the right fit.

Residential Solar Case Studies
Our residential projects focus on helping homeowners reduce energy bills and gain greater independence from the grid.
Typical installations include:
- roof-mounted solar panel systems
- battery storage for energy optimisation
- EV charger integration where required through our services
Each home is different, which is why every system is designed specifically for the property.

Commercial Solar Installations
We also deliver commercial solar panel installations for businesses looking to reduce operational costs and improve sustainability.
Commercial projects often include:
- larger-scale solar PV systems
- advanced battery storage solutions
- integration with existing energy infrastructure
These systems are designed to maximise return on investment while supporting long-term energy strategies.

Start your own solar project

Book a quick appointment
We start with a short appointment to understand your property, location, available space and what you want to achieve. This gives us enough information to begin assessing whether solar panels, battery storage or a wider renewable energy system could be suitable.

Desktop Survey and Initial Estimate
Using advanced desktop survey software, including LiDAR and mapping data, we can quickly assess the viability of your project without needing an immediate site visit. This allows us to review roof space, orientation, shading and likely system options, often with a fast turnaround. At this stage, we can usually provide an initial cost indication based on the desktop survey, helping you understand whether the project is worth exploring further.

Follow-Up Design Discussion
Once the initial assessment is complete, we follow up with clear options based on your property and energy usage. Depending on the project, this may include one to three possible system designs, showing different approaches, estimated generation and potential savings. There is no pressure to proceed. The aim is to give you enough information to make a confident decision.

Site Survey and Final Quote
If you want to move forward, we arrange a site survey to confirm the details in person. This allows us to check access, roof condition, installation requirements and the final system design. Once everything is confirmed, we lock in the chosen approach and provide the final quote. A 25% deposit is usually taken at this stage, with a typical installation lead time of around 4 to 6 weeks.

Installation
Your installation is then scheduled and completed by our qualified team.
